How do I remove my wallpaper?
If old paper requires stripping, this should be removed before any other work is carried out. Many old vinyl papers are easily stripped by simply peeling them off, having lifted a corner with the aid of a stripping knife. Some people say you can leave...

on the front of my house the rooms get very hot. The sunlight hits the areas half the day .I am looking for something to cut down on the sunlight coming through my windows. I really don't want curtains because I have bad allergies and I do not want anymore fabric or dust holding materials. Also I tried blinds but they did very little

I would suggest interior real wood blinds. They cut down on heat because the air between the blind and the window make an excellent insulation barrier. They can be painted or stained. Also they don't hold  dust...

My house has been painted many times over the years and it does not seem to hold up. It mildews up so fast and we keep pressure washing it but it seems to break down the paint faster do you have any recommendations?

It sounds like who ever has been painting your house has been using the wrong type of paint.  I don't just mean exterior paint. You use different types of paints and stains over different types of paints. Also you use differnt...

Dear expert I am trying to get an SBA loan and they told me I need a contractor's estimate. I want a contractor to do the work but I can not get a contractor that I trust to give me an estimate. When I do find contractors most of them are not licensed or insured and so far I have not found any that know how to do all the different types of work I need done.Last I am not totally sure of what I need done and even if it's worth putting the money into my house.( I have an older home). I think I need house leveling and a total remodel job. Got any Ideas? I really need the help.

I recently had a fire in my Apt. my landlords deductable is 10k and the damage is to one room only wth the fire department sparying only a few gallons of water. The electrical looks like knob and tube. All apts have a sperate breaker box. I was curious if it would be worth replacing the old wiring in my apt as I have good access to electricians? The ceiling in the living room will be taken out as that is where the fire started, Beyond the that there is a light in the ceiling of the kitchen-w/one out let in the kitchen...one in the batroom over the vanity and 2 out lets in bedroom with one ceiling fan. I am going to flip the bill for my landlord. I can do everything short of getting the inspection done. Is it going to be worth upgrading the wiring to get it \"safer\"? I am looking at about 500 to fix the drywall in the ceiling and not sure what it would cost for the wiring upgrade, but I have estimated that there will be less then 200 ft worth of wire in the place total. I live in the uptown area...Thanks for your help.

Yes , Get an State  Licensed electrician to check it out.
